Pablo Colucci // Managing Director

Pablo started Compass Metal Trading in 2013 after moving from Canada to the US where he worked in the scrap industry for 8 years (both in sales and operations). He saw the need in the market for a brokerage firm that combined great service, competitive pricing and most importantly strong personal relationships. Pulling from his wide range of experience in the scrap industry, he has been able to build a team that has met his vision with plans for further growth through North America and the rest of the world.

Matt Newman // Technical Director - Aluminum

Matt has a passion for scrap metal that has carried him through all facets of the scrap industry since 2011. Starting in operations, Matt now excels in trading at a high level and has extensive knowledge of global markets and their effect on our industry. He received his degree from Eastern Michigan University and now resides in his hometown of Detroit, MI.

Scot Corson // Regional Director - Trading

Scot knew the scrap life was for him when he started learning about nonferrous metals and processing in 2012. He excels at building relationships through trust and transparency with customers and consumers. Scot joined the Compass Metal Trading team in 2019, and trades out of our Louisville, KY office. He has a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Michigan.

Phil Smart // Senior Trader

Phil left the restaurant industry for a job trading scrap metal and never looked back. Throughout his career in the scrap industry, he has held positions in both trading and operations. He joined Compass Metal Trading in 2020 and has utilized his vast knowledge of operations. He works out of the New Jersey office and has a bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Kean University.

Jacques Levinsohn // Technical Director - Ferrous

With a career spanning over 25 years in the scrap metal industry, Jacques is a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience and expertise. As one of the founders of Combined Metal Industries (CMI) in 1999, he played an instrumental role in establishing the company as a leader in the field. In 2023, he joined the Compass Metal Trading team, bringing his knowledge and passion for the industry to grow the ferrous side of the business. Jacques is excited about the opportunities that lie ahead and looks forward to continuing to make a meaningful impact in the industry.

Keith Mundy // Senior Trader

Keith launched his scrap career as a manager-in-training immediately after graduating college in 2007. Since then, he has held positions with both private and publicly traded companies across operations and commercial roles. He and his family now reside in Peachtree City - a suburb of Atlanta where he and his wife grew up. Keith has an economics degree from the University of Georgia - Go Dawgs!
